God bless all these wonderful Moms and Dads who have opened
their hearts and their homes to these little Yorkie Rescues.
It's the Yorkie Rescue Parade!
Angel Eyes
(Unfortunately, Angel Eyes became ill recently and was not able to attend the Rescue Parade. Our best wishes go to Meg Owen and Angel Eyes that she will be well again real soon.)
Angel Eyes joined our household in September 2000. She is a resilient little Yorkie who suffered not only the loss of her first human, Kaye, but almost exactly a year later, the loss of her remaining human, Helen.
Before she died, Helen asked me to find homes for Angel Eyes, Candy Man and Wendy. However, as Angel Eyes was eleven, and not housebroken at the time, she elected to be adopted by us.
She is affectionate, smart, now housebroken, and an alpha member of our household. I am sure Helen would be amused by Angel Eyes presence here, and I'm equally sure that Kaye would not!

Harper's Tiny Tyson "BEAU"
Beau is owned by Linda and Ed Harper
This is what they have to say about Beau. . . . . .
Beau came to us almost 2 years ago. Who would think that such a small "handsome boy" could take over our lives?
Even though though small in stature, Beau has now completed his Novice and Open titles in agility and is currently working toward his Excellent titles.
Beau is such a charmer- he works the crowds and the judges to his
advantage. He has even stole the heart of his trainer, who swore she would never become attached to a YORKIE.
Thank you Shelly Ince for this wonderful rescue Yorkie, our boy Beau.
He’s still a handful... oh but what a handful!!!
We of course, love him to death...
Count Boo
This is Steve and Cathy MacMaster with their rescued Yorkie,
'Count Boo'. He has been with his parents for 10 years.
Boo got his name from being born on Halloween.
He came into his forever home when friends realized they liked Rottweilers better than Yorkies.
Taken from his Mother at the tender age of 7 weeks and placed into a family with young children as a Christmas present, Boo was tormented.
Today, at 12 years old, Boo loves to go for rides in the car and walks in his neighborhood. Boo enjoys sleeping on pillows, and a good game of tug-of-war.
Every Halloween on Boo's birthday, children dress in costumes and come to his door for fun and candy. However Boo wants nothing more than a nice belly scratch and a warm dinner.
Boo shares his home with Lucy, also known as Bejaze Fast and Loose, from Bejaze Kennel. Lucy is Boo's good friend and companion. His Mom and Dad are very proud of him. He's a good boy.
Elvis
This is Elvis and his new mom and dad, Glenna and Armand Szulc.
Elvis is being led around the ring by a very special lady named Ella Patterson. Ella is the Yorkie Rescuer who was originally fostering Elvis in Texas. We’re so happy that Ella was able to fly out here from Texas for this show.
This what Elvis has to say . . . . .
Hi, remember me…I’m Elvis…I started out in Texas and now I live in California with my new Mommy and Daddy, Armand and Glenna. They have given me a wonderful home…I love them very much and I am so lucky. They flew to Texas to get me after seeing me on the internet on Yorkie adoption. I was really lucky because my foster mother was Ella Patterson and she took real good care of me till I flew to California with my Mom & Dad. I had never flown before and I was very scared and trembling so they cuddled me the whole way to make me feel better. I fell in love with them right there.
Ella is here today too! How lucky can a dog get?!?!?!?!?!?
Joey
Joey is being presented by his human, Lynn Knox.
Adopting little Joey from the Lancaster shelter was quite a challenge. It was a two hour trip to Lancaster and they would not let me put a hold on him. When I got there he had a hold on him from a Rescue Group After a little "discussion" and a phone call to the person who had the hold on him, they released him to me.
He was so sad and dirty, but after I got him home, he was a different dog. He explored my house for over an hour and got acquainted with my other animals. He made himself right at home -- settling down in the dog beds that the others won't use.
He is an old little guy, maybe as old as 15, but his heart is strong and he is quite feisty. Joey loves to eat. Stands beside me and barks until I put his bowl on the floor – and heaven help anyone who wants to take it away.
I have had him for almost two years now and he has brought me many smiles. He is being spoiled -- it feels so good to have a little Yorkie face looking back at me again!!!
Thanks to you Ric, Joey is living the good life!!!
Rusty
Rusty is being presented by his human, Lynn Knox.
When I saw his little face in the picture Ric sent in his “Yorkie Alert” I knew I had to try and adopt him. I called the Rancho Cucamonga facility to put a hold on him, but was told they did not take holds, it was first come, first served. I was there when they opened on his available date and had no trouble adopting him. I could not take him home that day as he had to be neutered (and as it turned out, he had to have two teeth pulled. They were the last two teeth he had -- poor thing!!!).
I took him to my vet for a follow-up checkup and he was given a clean bill of health. Weighing in at 3.4 pounds, he is the smallest Yorkie I have had. He and Joey have become good friends and share the dog beds. Rusty had no hair when I adopted him, and it has been really slow growing in He is so cute when he looks at you with that funny little face, you just can't help smiling. He brings lots of smiles to my face every day.
God Bless Ric Ross and his Yorkie Alerts!!!

The Yorkie Rescue Parade was a great success again this year.
We had an entry of 9 Yorkie Rescues.
Jack
Jack is being presented by his owner, Stephen Mason.
Jack is a one-year old king size Mega Yorkie dog weighing in at sixteen pounds. It is believed that he came from a puppy mill. Despite his charming, gentle, and playful personality, his previous family was unable to keep him from using their upstairs carpet to relieve himself. They tried everything they could to correct Jack's housetraining problem but all to no avail. They finally gave up and made the agonizing but courageous decision to place Jack into a new home.
Jack now lives with Steve Mason in a home with a hardwood floor, and he no longer has accidents.
He enjoys spending his free time play fighting with his Yorkie Buddie Sam, being watchdog, sitting on Steve's lap, or lying around with Sam and Penny, his other Yorkie companion.
Jack is a very sweet dog.
Sam
Sam is being presented by his owner, Stephen Mason.
Sam is a two-year old Yorkie who is believed to have come from a puppy mill. His previous owner no longer wanted Sam, and when he came to Ric Ross for rescue he showed signs of neglect, was not groomed properly, and had overgrown nails.
Sam is a happy, sweet, sensitive, gentle, and affectionate little guy. He is very active and alert, and does not let anything pass him by.
He loves to play with Jack and Penny, his Yorkie companions, . . . either play fighting or chasing balls, . . . likes to lie next to Steve and the other Yorkies, . . . and always wants to be around to be a part of whatever might be happening.
He loves attention, being petted and cared for, licking, and having Steve Mason, his owner, blow in his face. He is always willing to drop everything else to be an alert and active watch dog.
Timmy
Timmy is being presented by Ric Ross.
This is what Ric has to say about Timmy.
Timmy is approximately 14 years old now. Timmy came from a neglectful and abusive home situation. A concerned neighbor called the Police and reported his owner for abuse. His owner was sent to jail and Timmy went to the Shelter. I bailed Timmy out of the shelter the next day.
He had to be clipped down because he was infested with fleas and had mats to the skin. He also had many raw spots and was scratching almost continuously. My Vet diagnosed him as having an airborne allergy. He was given medications and started to get better immediately. His mental wounds however, took a great deal longer to heal. He was very shy and afraid and didn't even know how to play. He was a little lost soul.
I tried for several months to find him a home but since he's an older male, with the beginnings of Cataracts, and structurally built like a little pot-belly pig, no one wanted him. He's a very sweet boy and has become my "Velcro Dog"... I finally gave up looking for a home for him and made him part of my family.
I've had Timmy now for almost 4 years. I've never once regretted keeping this little old man. Although still a little shy of strangers, Timmy has now learned how to play and loves his new playmates, Beau, Delta, Savannah and Bubba. Timmy is a very happy little dog now.
