Our club is very happy to introduce you to one of our very important members and her little miracle agility dog.

Pam Shelby and her little 'Desi' are a very important part of our club.  If you've not yet seen Pam and Desi on the Agility course, you really should try to see them.  You will not be disappointed.

They're making history and rewriting the record books for their accomplishments on the Agility course.  We are so proud of their recent accomplishments at the Eukanuba Invitational Show held recently in Tampa, FL.

Below is a photo of Pam holding 'Desi'.  And at the bottom of the photo is the email that Pam wrote to us on January 18, 2005, when she returned from Tampa.
January 18, 2005

Hi Everyone,
Desi and I got home from Tampa yesterday around 5 PM. Desi had me up at 4:30 AM this morning because his tummy is still on Tampa time.
I want to Congratulate Jayne and Molly on their Best of Breed on Sat.
My friend, Cindy, and I started watching the show Sat. night and we could only make it through the Toy Group and the Hound Group. It was off to bed for me at 9 PM. But I have a friend here in San Diego who taped the show so I will get to see their performance later on this week.
I am going to Buena Park this morning to pick up CJ and Adam who stayed with a friend while Desi and I were gone.
Desi did a wonderful job for me in Tampa. I went there hoping to get a Qualifying ribbon from the Nationals and we went above and beyond my wildest dreams. There were 60 eight inch dogs entered in Desi's class and we had three runs to try and qualify for the Finals. Desi ran all three runs clean for me although we had a few "heart stoppers" as Desi tried to go off course a couple of times. I called him back soon enough and we finished clean. The top five eight inch dogs who had the best accumulative scores from the three runs were picked for the Finals. There were 12 eight inch dogs who competed in the Challenger class for the one remaining spot in the eight inch Finals. So six of us went to the Finals. Since Desi was the 5th dog on the list (we just made the cut) we had to run first. We stood around while the people from Animal Planet got their lighting correct. They called us to the line and the crowd went crazy because they had been sitting in the bleachers for about two hours waiting for the Finals to start. Then they called us back because the lighting wasn't right. The crowd was booing now. Finally we were able
to start our run. My mouth was so dry I was spitting cotton. Desi ran the course clean and I was in Heaven! The little Pap who won the Challenger Class ran the course faster than Desi and he won 1st  Place. None of the other eight inch dogs could manage to run the course clean so Desi and I came in 2nd. The Pap won the eight in class last year in Long Beach too.
There were 57 dogs in the Finals and I'm sure when Animal Planet airs the show they won't be showing much of the eight inch class. We always get the "shaft" because the bigger dogs are more exciting to watch. But Desi and I had a great time and we were proud to represent this wonderful Yorkie breed that we all love.
I hope to see you all at the Specialty in May.

                          Pam
